You already recommend tools, servers and software to clients, to your community or to your professional network. The real question is not whether you can do it, but whether it can become a serious income line. The Open Vista affiliate program is built on one simple rule: 15% of the amounts your referrals actually pay, for as long as they stay customers.
The distinction matters: the commission is recurring because it follows the renewal price of the service, but it is not passive. You have to bring in customers who pay, and those customers have to stay active. An affiliate who brings ten clients and stops there keeps earning while they renew; an affiliate who brings nobody earns nothing. For a freelancer, an agency or a consultant, that changes what a recommendation is worth: Open Vista sells, delivers, invoices and supports the service, and you remain the person who pointed the client to a solution that fit.
Who the program actually fits
The program is open to any adult with a customer account. No sales quota, no minimum volume, no earnings cap. But "open to everyone" does not mean "suitable for everyone".
- Freelancers and independents — developers, designers, consultants whose clients need hosting, VPS and tools that hold up.
- Web and SEO agencies — hosting, VPS and cPanel licenses: concrete arguments and a recurring margin.
- IT consultants and integrators — Odoo ERP, cloud, cybersecurity and virtual desktops to digitalize your clients.
- Resellers and managed service providers — a professional offer, bilingual support, commissions on every account.
- Trainers and schools — put the right tools in front of learners without running the infrastructure yourself.
- Bloggers and creators — comparisons, tutorials, newsletters: monetize a tech audience usefully.
Who should skip it
If you have no audience, no clients and no active professional network, the program will produce nothing. There is no sign-up bonus: registering, or activating your affiliate account, generates no commission. And if you are looking for immediate, guaranteed income, this is not the right frame: a commission is only earned after a service is paid for, and it then stays pending for sixty days before it can be withdrawn.
The real math, using the site's own examples
The commission is 15% of the products and services your referrals actually pay for, excluding tax, on the initial order and on renewals. The example Open Vista gives is blunt: 200 DH of services paid means 30 DH of commission. The rate does not change with volume, and the commission follows the renewal price of the service.
| Referrals | Average monthly spend | Monthly commission (15%) | Over twelve months |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | 200 DH | 300 DH | 3,600 DH |
| 25 | 300 DH | 1,125 DH | 13,500 DH |
| 50 | 400 DH | 3,000 DH | 36,000 DH |
Those three scenarios are the examples Open Vista publishes, based on an average monthly spend of 200 to 400 DH per client. They are orders of magnitude, not a promise: they assume clients stay active and keep paying. A client who cancels stops the commission; a client who drops from 400 DH to 200 DH cuts it in half.
What never generates a commission
Five categories are excluded, and you should know them before you write a recommendation: domain names, add-on modules, upgrade orders, manually created invoices and usage-based billing. If your recommendation is only about a domain name, it will not be paid; if it is about a VPS, hosting, a hosted Odoo ERP or a virtual desktop, it is in scope.
Tracking, validation, payout: the real cycle
The whole path is four steps, and two minutes are enough to start, with no bank card. The full conditions live on the affiliate program page; here is what actually happens.
- Create your free account at my.openvista.ma. No bank card is requested.
- Open the "Affiliation" section in your customer area and click "Activer le compte d'affilié" (the button keeps its French label).
- Share your unique link, in the form
my.openvista.ma/aff.php?aff=VOTREID, on your site, your blog, your social profiles or by WhatsApp. - Track clicks, sign-ups, attributed orders and earnings in the dashboard, and a monthly email report lands in your inbox; withdraw once you hold 100 DH of validated balance.
The link, the cookie and attribution
Every affiliate gets a unique link. When a visitor clicks it, a 90-day cookie is set: if that visitor opens an account and orders within that window, the sale is credited to you, even if they come back to the site directly later. When several links are used, the sale goes to the last affiliate whose link was clicked. Self-referral, meaning using your own link to place your own order, is forbidden and cancels the commissions involved.
The flip side is simple: a cookie can be blocked. Private browsing, a cookie blocker or an in-app browser can break tracking. Hence the practical advice: send the link, ask your contact to open it in their usual browser, and check in the dashboard that the click was recorded.
Sixty days, then the payout
After each payment, the commission stays "pending" for 60 days. It becomes available if the referral's service is still active at the end of that period. You request the withdrawal from your affiliate area once you reach 100 DH of validated balance; below that, the balance keeps growing until the next request. Payment is made by bank transfer to a Moroccan bank account whose RIB you provide, and the request is processed within 15 business days.
Open Vista deducts no fees from your commissions. You remain responsible for declaring and paying any taxes that apply to your affiliate income under Moroccan law, which is worth factoring in if you are registered.
Five ways to lose a commission
Not every commission is permanent. Five situations account for most losses:
- Cancelled, unpaid or refunded order. A full refund cancels the commission automatically; a partial refund may cancel it entirely. An unpaid order generates nothing.
- Self-referral. Using your own link for your own order is forbidden, and the commissions concerned are cancelled.
- Excluded products. Domain names, add-on modules, upgrades, manual invoices and usage-based billing stay out of scope.
- Blocked cookie or private mode. Tracking fails and the sale is not attributed. A later click on another affiliate's link also takes the sale away from you.
- Service inactive at validation. If the referral cancels during the 60 days, the commission never becomes available.
Five ways to promote without spamming
Promotion that works looks less like advertising and more like useful advice, given at the right moment.
- Publish a comparison or a tutorial that genuinely covers the offers you recommend, including where they do not fit.
- Put your link in your email signature, your site and your professional profiles: the quietest and most durable reminder you have.
- Mention Open Vista in proposals when hosting or ERP comes up. If you run an agency, the white-label offer deserves a look: agency partnership.
- Answer a real question in a WhatsApp group or on a professional network with a concrete case, instead of dropping your link cold.
- Send a monthly newsletter built on one use case: a client who migrated, a problem solved, a cost avoided.
FAQ
How much can I realistically earn?
It depends on how many clients you bring, what they spend and how long they stay. The program's examples run from 300 DH per month for ten clients to 3,000 DH per month for fifty. None of those figures is guaranteed: they are simulations based on a given average spend.
Does a sign-up earn a commission?
No. A commission is only paid when a customer buys and pays for a service. A sign-up, or the activation of your affiliate account, generates no payment and therefore no commission.
What happens if my referral cancels?
The commission is cancelled if the order is cancelled, unpaid or refunded, or if the service is no longer active at the end of the 60 days. Commissions already validated stay yours, unless the matching order is refunded.
How and when do I get paid?
From your affiliate area, by bank transfer to a Moroccan bank account whose RIB you provide, once you hold 100 DH of validated balance. The request is processed within 15 business days, weekends and public holidays excluded.
Your network is worth more than a like
A recommendation in a conversation, a message in a freelancers' group, one line in a proposal: the program pays for what you already do, provided you do it deliberately and understand the rules. Registration and activation are free, with no purchase required, no bank card and no membership or management fees.
The next step fits on one page: create your account, activate the affiliate account, share your link. Everything is laid out on the Open Vista affiliate program page.
